But instead of looking for a cure, we are more interested in feeding the obsession with its variants that push us deeper into the lively pit of guessing games. There is a specific interest in the community to find and commit to unique spin-offs rather than run-of-the-mill clones. If you are someone who is in the middle, that is, you want it to be like Wordle but with a little twist, then Reversle might be of interest to you.

Reversle is the Wordle game in reverse mode; that is, when you start the game, the solution is already in the grid. The challenge is to play the game as if you were following the moves you made to arrive at the solution.

The scoring parameter is the time (measured in seconds) to solve the puzzle. The game is the brainchild of independent developer Kiru. In his Twitter bio, Kiru calls himself a “recursive problem solver,” and it’s no surprise that the linear paradigm that the Wordle algorithm follows would trigger his flair for grinding it through a recursive model of programming. The result is Reversle, a game built on the principle of replaying your moves to fit predetermined circumstances.
