To help celebrate Safer Internet Day, Snapchat will soon let you clean up your friends list on the messaging service, keeping your shared content within your closed circle and out of reach. Snapchat is rolling out a new feature called “Friend Check-Up” to its social messaging app, giving you the ability to unfriend people you no longer talk to. The feature is a privacy measure so that the people who can see your Stories and your location (if enabled via Snap Map) are the ones you actually want to share with.

The Friend Checkup feature is a great way to see if you have someone on your friends list that you've lost touch with. The update fits with Snapchat's position that it's an app designed more for close friends than a large group of friends.
