Software is broadly defined as a set of instructions (usually called "code") that sits between you and the device's hardware and enables you to use the device.
What is software?
But what is computer software anyway? It is an invisible part of a computer system that allows you to interact with the physical components of the computer. Software allows you to communicate with smartphones, tablets, game boxes, media players and similar devices.
It is important to note that there is a clear distinction between hardware and software. Software is an intangible resource. You can’t hold it in your hands. Hardware consists of tangible resources such as mice, keyboards, USB ports, CPUs, memory, and printers. Phones are hardware. iPads, Kindles, and Fire TV sticks are hardware. Hardware and software work together to make a system functional.
Although all software is software, you probably use software in two ways in everyday life: as system software and as an application.
