5G is the latest mobile network that replaces 4G technology and offers a number of improvements in terms of speed, coverage and reliability.
4G vs 5G: What's the Difference?
The main reason for the need for an upgraded network is to support the growing number of devices that need internet access. Many of these devices require so much bandwidth to function normally that 4G simply does not suffice.
For reference, the first public 4G network was launched in 2009. Mobile networks carried around 300 times more traffic in 2021 than in 2011, a factor that is undoubtedly increasing every year!
5G uses different types of antennas, operates on different radio spectrum frequencies, connects many more devices to the internet, minimizes delays and delivers blazing fast speeds.
