Players have been noticing strange Green Rain in Stardew Valley after the 1.6 update, and there hasn’t been much information available or discussed online. However, we do now have some clarity on the new weather condition and what it does. Find out if it’s harmful (is it acid rain?!) or beneficial to you.
How to get green rain in Stardew Valley!
When you watch the weather report on TV, you hear about a strange phenomenon called Green Rain. You see the report that says, "Um… There seems to be some kind of… abnormal reading… I… don't know what this means…" And when it's the next morning, it's what you expect: green rain. If it's a Green Rain day, the TV will show green static no matter what channel you turn to.
Luckily, Green Rain in Stardew Valley isn't acidic or harmful to villagers. It can only occur in the summer and works the same as regular rain, but there are a few differences, and most of it is for foliage.
When Green Rain comes down, wild trees and weeds will appear in large numbers throughout the valley, except for Beach and Calico Desert. You can take full advantage of this wild growth and gather Fiddlehead Ferns from this environmental change.
