Midjourney offers several ways to control how fast your desired images are generated. We have already explained how to use the Fast, Relax and Turbo modes to make images faster or slower. But there is another way to influence the time it takes to generate images on Midjourney, and that is by using the Quality parameter.
How to use the quality parameter in Midjourney
As the name suggests, the Quality parameter determines how long you want Midjourney to process your input prompt. When you demand higher quality images from Midjourney, it will take longer to process the images it produces and produce more detail. In addition to taking longer, high quality generations will also consume more GPU minutes from your account.
Setting the image quality to lower values will process images faster, but you may lose some important details depending on the prompt you enter. Midjourney shares that low quality values can be perfect for abstract images, while higher values can be chosen for images that require detail, such as architectural structures.
If you do not specify the Quality parameter in your first prompt, your image will be created at the highest quality. You should note that this parameter does not affect the resolution of your generations, as they still have a maximum resolution of 1024 x 1024 pixels.
