After weeks of speculation and rumors, Hi-Rez Studios finally announced during the 2024 SMITE World Championship that SMITE 2 is in development and will soon enter alpha testing for players around the world to try out the game.

SMITE 2 is being billed as “the next generation cross-platform third-person MOBA,” featuring improved gameplay and stunning graphics built using Unreal Engine 5. The game is still in pre-alpha development, but the developers hope to begin alpha testing to refine the game into a masterpiece.

Luckily, we now have precise details about the first closed alpha of SMITE 2 and when you'll be able to try the game out for yourself for the first time.

According to developers Hi-Rez Studios, they hope that eager players will soon have access to monthly alpha testing weekends. The first closed alpha test for SMITE 2 will take place from May 2 at 8:00 PM ET to May 4 at 10:00 PM ET.
