Fortnite has always had something going for it, with the staying power of Epic Games’ battle royale (and its ever-growing list of spinoffs) largely based on its bumper content updates and thematic chapters and seasons. These seem to fly by with each passing day, leaving many Fortnite players wondering where exactly the game stands.

Here's what Fortnite is planning in its seemingly never-ending seasonal story.

Fortnite is currently in the midst of Chapter Five, Season Four. This is the 31st season of Epic's long-running battle royale, titled "Absolute Doom."

The season is Marvel-themed and will primarily revolve around the ongoing battle to defeat iconic Fantastic Four villain Doctor Doom. The story in this Fortnite season began after Doctor Doom opened and absorbed Pandora’s Box, with the villain then using his newfound powers to form a new Kingdom of Doom on the map.
