If Google Assistant won’t play movies, the first thing you’ll want to do is make sure it has the right permissions. On an Android phone, permissions are how you give an app access to various things, like your microphone, local storage, and your contact information.
At a minimum, Google Assistant needs access to your microphone to hear your voice commands. However, it also needs access to a number of other permissions to perform all the tasks it can do.
