A sudden loss of power to your stereo receiver is a potentially serious problem, even if it only happens occasionally. You must identify the source of the problem and resolve it quickly to prevent damage to your equipment.

Check that no loose wires from the speaker wire are touching the back of the receiver or the back of any connected speakers. Even one small wire from the loose speaker wire is enough to turn off the receiver due to a short circuit.

Remove any loose wires, strip the affected speaker wires with the wire stripper, and reconnect the speakers to the receiver.

If you have pets, check the entire length of all speaker wires to make sure your pets haven't chewed through any of the wires. Unless you have wires that are hidden or out of the way, appliances (like a vacuum cleaner), furniture, or foot traffic can also damage wires.
