WhatsApp’s interoperability feature will soon be available to users across the European region. It will allow users to send and receive messages to other third-party apps, such as Telegram and Signal, without having to install or switch between platforms.

This is likely largely due to the EU's Digital Markets Act (DMA), which limits the power of 'gatekeepers' in the sector and forces companies to let users of different messaging apps communicate with each other.
So far, we’ve only had a few screenshots of what WhatsApp’s interoperability feature will look like for EU users. But now, thanks to TheSpAndroid, we have a full video to see what the third-party chat feature has to offer.
During the onboarding process, WhatsApp will inform you about the risks, such as the frequency of spam, the different end-to-end encryption used by other apps, and the ability of people you've blocked on WhatsApp to reach you. WhatsApp will also not be able to see your messages in third-party apps.
