Apple's Photos app works great, but six and a half years after its launch, it's still missing some embarrassingly obvious features.
10 Things You're Missing Out On If You're Not Using the Photos App
Apple just added a feature that lets you export your entire photo library to Google Photos. That's great, because it keeps your photos from being locked to your Apple device or in Apple's iCloud. But that feature seems more like a way to stave off growing antitrust pressure from government regulators than a feature that people will actually use.
“Honestly, I think the move to Google is unnecessary,” professional photo organizer Caroline Guntur told Lifewire via email.
"Most users who want to move away from Apple Photos want to move to Lightroom or another similar software where they have more control. Apple Photos is much better than Google Photos, so in my opinion it's like taking a step back. I've never seen anyone make that switch in the 10 years I've been in the business."
