During opening day of its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2021 on Monday, Apple announced several new additions to FaceTime when iOS 15 launches this fall. It’s one of the biggest updates FaceTime has seen yet, and includes several new features that Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of software engineering, says will make staying in touch with friends and family easier than ever.
Two of the first features coming to FaceTime give users better audio options. Spatial audio makes for more immersive conversations. Meanwhile, the added noise cancellation feature lets you block out additional noise, so you can talk to users clearly, even if you're in a noisy environment.
Federighi also noted that there is a wide spectrum mode available, which allows you to capture all the little background noises, for those unique events where you want to capture everything.
