Want to chat with 128 of your best friends on WhatsApp? Now you can.

WhatsApp has introduced a group voice chat feature that lets you chat with more people. It works a little differently than a group call in a few ways. First, there’s no ringing. And now you can chat with even more people.

To start a group chat in WhatsApp, you first need to be in a group chat. Then, simply tap the voice chat button (it looks like a sound wave). A notification will be sent to the group in the chat, and others can tap the notification to join the chat. That is the only notification others will get from the conversation. Their phone will not ring.

There are a few caveats. For starters, group voice chats are only available for groups of 33 to 128 people. This differs from group calls in that a group call is limited to 32 participants. Also, you can only join group voice chats from your primary device, and if no one joins the chat, the call will end after 60 minutes when only one person remains. If everyone leaves, the call will automatically end.
