There are several battle challenges that players can take on in Final Fantasy XIV as their Warriors of Light, and one of the most popular is the Unreal Trials. With the arrival of Dawntrail, however, a new cycle of these trials will begin with more exclusive rewards to claim, so it's important to know when exactly it's time to dive back in.
FINAL FANTASY XIV: Campfire – A larger scale of adventure
Dawntrail offers players a jungle full of new content on their first adventure in Tural, but the full patch notes for 7.0 on The Lodestone have revealed that Unreal Trials will not be part of the initial launch and will be 'disabled' for the time being.
Instead, Warriors of Light can look forward to Unreal Trials officially returning in Patch 7.1, where a new rule set will debut with the same usual ruleset regarding combat mechanics, along with a host of Faux Hollows-exclusive rewards (e.g. mounts, minions, accessories). As noted in the most recent Live Letter, all we know so far is that Patch 7.05 will arrive on July 30th, at the end of Dawntrail’s first full month.
After that will likely come Patch 7.1, but we don’t have a concrete date yet for when that will arrive. As far as an educated guess, we can hopefully expect it to arrive in late summer, maybe sometime in September. We should get more details closer to that timeframe and we’ll provide a quick update as soon as we know more.
