Black Myth Wukong – This is NOT what I expected today! New leaks and devs respond
This semi-Souls-esque take on the classic Journey to the West story captivated audiences with its impressive visuals and early gameplay, including a variety of abilities that allow the player to transform into different forms and use mystical-inspired martial arts. New trailers have been released in recent years to show off more of the game and how it’s shaping up, but The Game Awards gave fans what they wanted: a release date.
Black Myth: Wukong will release on Steam and the Epic Games Store on August 20, 2024. It's listed as "coming soon" for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. We also got our first look at the English version of the game.
"Black Myth: Wukong is an action RPG rooted in Chinese mythology," reads the description on Steam. "The story is based on Journey to the West, one of the Four Great Classical Novels of Chinese literature. You set out as the Destined One to face the challenges and wonders that lie ahead, to uncover the hidden truth beneath the veil of a glorious legend from the past."
