Last year, one of the biggest smartphone manufacturers in the industry, Samsung, revamped its user interface with the introduction of One UI. Its predecessor, TouchWiz, had its uses, but a plethora of bloatware left most users more frustrated than satisfied. It took Samsung some time, but they finally removed the annoying elements and launched a reworked UI.

There was some skepticism surrounding One UI, with many unsure that Samsung would finally deliver a non-intrusive OS. However, based on Android 9 Pie, One UI brought a slew of welcome changes, all of which helped improve the smartphone experience for users.
This year, Google ditched the dessert-themed nomenclature and gave us a refreshed Android OS: Android 10. It improves on Android Pie’s feature set with a few visual and functional changes. It’s still early days, but the reception has been overwhelmingly positive so far.
Samsung is basing One UI 2 on Android 10, and will bring most of the operating system’s core features to supported devices. The South Korean OEM didn’t reveal a comprehensive list of supported devices, nor did it announce an official release date. If the rumors are true, though, the beta seems closer than ever.
