Path of Exile has had players slaying monsters for over a decade, and PoE fans are finally about to get a standalone sequel. Many have been wondering when exactly Path of Exile 2 would release, as Grinding Gear Games isn’t shy about taking their time.
What happened to Path of Exile 2?!
PoE 2 was revealed in 2019 and the anticipation has only grown over the years. However, the question of "when exactly can we get our hands on the newest ARPG?" has not yet received a satisfactory answer.
The earliest possible release date for Path of Exile 2 is expected to be in early 2025. This timeline gives Grinding Gear Games time to further refine and polish the game to make it a worthy successor to its predecessor. And considering the developer has already delayed a beta, they might just need that time.
Initially, a closed PoE 2 beta was scheduled for June 7, 2024. However, Grinding Gear Games decided to pull out and postpone the beta. The studio now expects the beta to launch "towards the end" of 2024, as game director Jonathan Rogers said in an interview with PCGamesN.
