Stardew Valley’s latest update, version 1.6, went live in a surprise drop on March 19. It added a host of new features, quality-of-life adjustments, and other changes, making it one of the most significant content rollouts Stardew Valley has received in years. However, it’s not yet available for console players.
Console players still waiting for Update 1.6…
Currently, the update is only available for the PC version of the game. Console enthusiasts will have to wait a little longer for the new update to be ported. Here's what we can expect regarding the release timeline for Stardew Valley's 1.6 update on consoles.
While Stardew Valley's 1.6 update is currently live for PC users, the console and mobile ports for update 1.6 are still in development. In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on May 14, developer Concerned Ape expressed understanding for players on those platforms who want to play the new content, saying that he's "doing everything in [his] power to get the ports out as quickly as possible."
However, porting games takes time and requires a lot more effort, which is why Update 1.6 has yet to see an official console or mobile release. While there is no date for either yet, past precedent is perhaps the only real indicator we have of when the update might go live on systems other than PC.
