iOS 16 brings many visual changes, particularly to the iPhone’s lock screen. The most noticeable change is the appearance of widgets, which can be added to the lock screen in addition to the Home screen. Lock screen widgets let you glance at the weather, calendar, alarms, and other information without unlocking your device.
How to Add Widgets to Your iPhone's Lock Screen in iOS 16
But where can you put these widgets on the lock screen and how many can you add at once? We will explain that in this post.
Lock screen widgets can be added in two different locations in iOS 16. Both are located in the top half of the lock screen, making them easy to view even when your iPhone is in one-handed mode. The two positions you can add these lock screen widgets are: above the lock screen time (the digital clock) or below the lock screen time.
When you add widgets above the clock, the selected widget will appear next to the date. Because this space is small compared to the space below the clock, you can only add one widget to this section. Since we are dealing with one item, the widgets you add here will appear primarily in text form.
