Google’s advanced voice assistant, Gemini Live, is now available for Android users. This AI-powered assistant offers more natural conversations and improved capabilities compared to its predecessor, Google Assistant. However, availability is currently limited.

Currently, Gemini Live is only accessible to Gemini Advanced subscribers using Android phones. This means that users will need both a compatible Android device and a paid Gemini Advanced subscription to use the new voice assistant.
There’s good news for Pixel 9 owners. These users will get access to the Google One AI Premium plan, which includes Gemini Advanced, at no extra cost for the first year. This effectively gives Pixel 9 owners (and other Pixel 9 models) access to Gemini Live for free during that time.
While specific device compatibility details are limited, it’s clear that Google is rolling out Gemini Live gradually. Users of newer Android phones, particularly those in the Pixel line, will get access first. We’ll also see a broader rollout across Pixels and other Android devices. Be sure to update your Gemini app and download Gemini Live. Once you’ve updated, look for an icon that looks like a waveform in the bottom-right corner of Gemini.
