While it appears Apple is switching to USB-C for some devices, iPhone owners shouldn't throw out their Lightning chargers just yet.

Apple may not move to the increasingly popular USB-C charging standard, according to a recent report from Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. That’s bad news for those looking to reduce the multiple chargers that clutter their lives. But experts say the wireless charging supported by recent iPhone models is a viable alternative.
“Wireless charging, also known as Qi Wireless, has been a standard and popular feature on leading smartphones for several years,” Jamshed Tamoor, a telecommunications expert for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority of New York City, said in an email interview.
"Apple has taken new steps by introducing wireless charging with magnetic grip under the popular name 'MagSafe'. This technology charges the new Apple iPhone 12 series with 12-15 watts, depending on the model."
