Beats' new wireless Studio Buds+ have briefly appeared on Amazon, showing why everyone prefers AirPods these days.
This is why you can't make good beats anymore
Fashion is how we present ourselves to the world. What we wear reflects our own taste, already shaped by external elements, and how we think others see us. Brands are not only chosen based on quality, but also as a marker to show a point of view or loyalty. And nowadays, technology is a big part of identity. This makes it interesting that the computer giant Apple is up there with the top brands, something that is especially evident with its wearables.
“I’ve seen all kinds of headphones and earbuds while teaching, and it’s so intriguing how they’ve gone from being just accessories to total fashion statements. I remember when students used to wear those huge over-ear headphones to look cool,” Faisal Nasim, instructor and founder of Exam Papers Plus, told Lifewire via email. “Beats became known as a stylish brand when celebrities started wearing them. The same thing happened with AirPods: They became a status symbol because they were part of the trendy Apple world.”
Nowadays, black cables and white cables are just two cable color options. But when Apple released its white iPod with white earbuds in 2001, white cables were a novelty, and as the iPod took off, white cables became iconic. Apple realized this, and its Silhouette iPod ad campaign featured just that: silhouettes of people moving around against brightly colored backgrounds, holding white iPods with white earbuds and cables.
