When Apple launched the iPhone 12, it removed the charger and EarPods from the box. Samsung mocked Apple in an ad campaign that featured a charger with the text, “Included with your Galaxy.” Now, to everyone’s surprise, Samsung has stopped including a charger.

It seems odd that you can buy an $800 smartphone that doesn’t come with a charger, but Apple explained that removing a charger from the box is better for the environment , and now other makers are following suit.
