While Pokémon Legends: Arceus promised a large, open world for players to explore, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl offer a welcome escape back to the Pokémon many of us grew up with. The introduction of the fourth generation of Pokémon was an exciting time, and the opportunity to explore it again is just as enticing as the promises of future Pokémon games.
“Diamond and Pearl were the first Pokémon games I played all the way through, and with friends,” Talyah Regusters, a fan of the series, told Lifewire via email. “Not only is the nostalgia super real, but I’m also excited to see some of the things that made this my favorite Pokémon game being integrated into the new technology of the Nintendo Switch.”

With Diamond and Pearl, that chord is especially clear, as these two titles introduced a ton of new features to the series.
