Apple may be planning to release a foldable iPhone in 2023, complete with Apple Pencil and an OLED display.
Why Foldable Phones Are a BAD Idea
Communications and research firm Omdia reports that Apple plans to release a foldable phone with a large screen, up to 7.6 inches, within the next two years. If Apple does release an iPhone, you can bet it will have overcome the problems of previous foldable phones, such as Samsung’s disastrous Galaxy Fold phone with its rickety hinge and peel-off screen.
But even with a technically functional fold, is a folding screen actually useful? Isn't a folding phone the dumbest thing ever?
"A foldable phone can do everything a regular phone can do, but you have the ability to make the screen bigger," Zedd, a tester at smartphone vendor PhoneBot, told Lifewire via email. "That's a big advantage, since most users prefer to view content on their phone."
