Fujifilm is set to replace its wildly popular, almost cult camera X100V, but how can this camera be improved?
Fujifilm X100V four years later | Can the X100VI improve upon it???
When I read that Fujifilm might replace the X100V, I asked a number of photographers how they thought a replacement could improve the camera, and the answers were telling. Not a single respondent made a radical request. The suggestions were all small tweaks and basic things like battery life improvements. So how can Fujifilm replace a camera that is so popular that it had to stop selling it last year to catch up on outstanding orders?
"It's an iconic design without any unnecessary features. The design and controls are refreshingly simple, especially compared to the Sony line. It's nostalgic yet highly functional. It's the perfect size and weight that makes it a joy to pick up. I often find myself just stroking it without actually taking a picture. No other camera I've ever owned has this effect (and I've owned many!)," Mark Condon, a photographer and the CEO and founder of Shotkit, told Lifewire via email.
Fujifilm typically announces new cameras and accessories at its X Summit, with the next one taking place in April. Rumors point to a big year, with expected updates to favorites like the X-Pro3 and the almost-too-popular X100V.
