Google is putting AI at the heart of its search capabilities, which experts say could mean users will have to deal with inaccuracies.

The next evolution of Google Search will use its AI-powered Bard chatbot in an effort to help users get information faster. But the current generation of AI chatbots is notoriously prone to errors.
"Bard is ultimately an automated computer model," Jason Downie, a former Google executive and current U.S. CEO of Making Science, told Lifewire in an email interview. "And it's only as good and accurate as its input. 'Garbage in, garbage out,' as the old saying goes. And there's a lot of bad information in the dataset."
The familiar Google search results page will soon be a thing of the past. Instead, the company said that Search Generative Experience, which will be part of Google, will respond to open-ended questions. When you type a question into the main search bar, you’ll get a pop-up with an AI-generated answer, in addition to displaying a version of traditional results.
