There are more and more reports of Google venturing into the foldable world. The possibility of a Google-made foldable phone makes me excited about the possibilities this could open up for Android and Chrome OS to finally work together.
Why Google's foldable phone could be more exciting than Samsung's
Google has already announced that it will be bringing its first true Google-made smartphones to market with the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. Both smartphones will feature a Google-made system-on-a-chip (SOC), instead of those from Qualcomm and other SOC makers.
Now, however, there are reports that Google is working on not one, but two foldable devices. This could herald an exciting time for Android fans who are also excited about what Google is doing with Chrome OS.
While the prospect of a Google-made foldable device is likely enough to satisfy some fans of the company's stock Android experience, I'm excited about this possibility because it doesn't just provide a solid foundation for stock Android.
