Normally I don't like big phones, but the iPhone 12 Max has so many extras over the regular 12 Pro that it's more than worth the extra cost.
iPhone 12 Pro Max: Should You Wait?
The plus-sized new iPhone 12 Pro is largely the same as the regular iPhone 12 Pro, but with better cameras and better battery life. Battery life may not be an important issue these days, when we're spending so much time at home, but the cameras are worth the upgrade. Plus, the Max gets all the other great iPhone 12 upgrades.
The entire iPhone 12 line has a cool new look. Well, new-ish. The flat, sharp-edged design mimics the latest iPad Pro and Air, but the iPhone 12 is essentially a big iPhone 5, albeit without the home button and with Apple’s beautiful edge-to-edge display.
And that’s good news, because the iPhone 5 was Apple’s best iPhone design. It looks great, feels even better, and you can balance it on its flat edge for long-range selfies, or use any flat surface as a makeshift tripod. But the iPhone 5 put its home button on the top edge, not the side. The 12’s power button on the side could potentially ruin the edge-balancing trick.
