The new Canon EOS R3 may be one of the best cameras on the market, but I don't plan on buying one right away.
Canon EOS R3 – Why I wouldn't buy one
The pricey R3 is hardly an impulse buy. However, the R3 boasts high speed, fast AF performance, low-light capabilities, a mirrorless design, and a full-frame image sensor that’s the same size as an analog camera.
I’ve owned my share of mirrorless and DSLR cameras, and while I’m a big fan of Canon, its specs didn’t leave me as excited as I would have been a few years ago. Truth be told, the camera on my iPhone 12 Pro Max is all I need, and that’s probably true for most people. Smartphone camera technology has gotten so good that even professionals are using them.
On paper, the R3's 24.1 megapixels don't exactly seem like a device that'll get your pulse racing.
