I can never get enough screen real estate. After considering a dual monitor setup, I nixed the idea and immediately ordered a new M1 iMac.
Why I'm Switching to the M1 iMac… For Now
With its incredibly slim design, I plan to use the iMac as a giant laptop. After all, at just 10 pounds, it weighs about the same as some gaming laptops. And since I, like many people, work from home these days, I don’t need to lug around a true portable all that often.
I’m a multitasker, often running six programs at once and dozens of tabs as I switch between emails, messages, and researching and writing stories. It’s not so much of a load on the processor, as I find most modern computers can handle the load.
But it’s great to know that the new iMac has Apple’s latest processor, which has received rave reviews for its speed. While I don’t need that power now, future OS updates may make the boost necessary.
