iPhone 12 mini sales are declining, according to multiple reports, accounting for just 5% of Apple’s total iPhone sales. These reports also speculate that this means the end for the smallest iPhone. But is that true? Absolutely not.
Why Apple Wants Your Old iPhone
Reuters reports that iPhone 12 mini sales have been weak compared to the larger iPhone 12, and even last year’s iPhone 11, which is still available. It even quotes a JP Morgan analyst who thinks Apple could end production soon.
But this speculation ignores three things. First, the iPhone 12 mini could be a sleeper hit. Second, not all iPhones can be the best-selling model. And third, the iPhone mini is just plain awesome.
"I love it," app developer Adam Smaka told Lifewire via direct message. "I really do. It's so compact and it's much more comfortable to use with one hand."
