TikTok will record videos of 15 to 60 seconds and will now also allow videos of up to three minutes. According to experts, longer videos are no longer suitable for social media.
Good news: social media is falling apart…
Short-form videos have been all the rage for the past few years, but TikTok is making a big splash on its platform by increasing the video length for creators. While the internet has a place for both long and short-form videos, social media platforms like TikTok are built for shorter clips that grab our attention.
“TikTok’s unique selling point is based on short-form videos that allow users to create content on the go that they can share with their followers,” Ryan Stewart, managing partner at WEBRIS Agency, wrote in an email to Lifewire.
“TikTok made a very bold move by allowing the longer video format, and I don't believe it will ultimately work out well for the company.”
