I spend way too much time on my expensive Macbook every day, but I’ve come to realize that all I really need is a Chromebook. Samsung’s new Chromebook 2, available for pre-order now, seems like the perfect mix of features for a reasonable price.
Review of Samsung's new Chromebook | Ars Technica
All the apps I use are available on Chrome, and it’s a much more fluid experience than other operating systems. Like most people, the majority of what I do on a PC is word processing, email, and the occasional movie streaming. You don’t need a $2,000 laptop to do all that.
The problem is that most Chromebooks are either cheap or overpriced. There are some exceptions to this rule, such as Google’s own highly regarded Pixelbook Go series, which starts at $649.
Samsung beats Google on price, with the Chromebook starting at $549. At that price, I don't have to worry too much about the Chromebook 2 breaking or becoming obsolete in a few years.
