While some have been concerned about a recently released list of PS4 games that Sony admits won't work on the upcoming PS5, experts say it's a good thing that the number of titles is so small.

In a recent blog post, Sony announced that when the PS5 launches this November, the vast majority of PS4 games, as well as Playstation VR games, will be available to play. Thanks to the extensive catalogs of PS Now and PS Plus, digital versions of PS4 games will be available to stream, and physical discs can still be played on the PS5’s Ultra HD Blu-ray drive.

Playing PS4 games on the new PS5 also promises to be an improved experience for gamers, with Sony promising faster loading times and better visuals through its Game Boost feature.

“With PS5 to PS4, Sony has only listed 10 games out of over 4,000 that don’t work, so that’s pretty impressive,” David Cole, founder and CEO of DFC Intelligence, a research firm focused on video game and entertainment analytics, explained in an email.
