Google Stadia launched in late 2019, bringing Google’s cloud gaming system to homes around the world. Since its release, Stadia has struggled to gain a foothold in the game streaming space. The company’s latest move may not be enough to entice users, however, as free demos aren’t really what the service needs.
“The biggest problem with Stadia is the latency and connectivity issues,” Gadget Review CEO Rex Freiberger told us in an email.
Freiberger isn’t alone in thinking Google’s cloud gaming service is a sluggish mess. In November 2019, when Stadia was running at full capacity, sites like The Washington Post warned users to stay away until Google fixed the issues.
