One of the biggest surprises for players was when they found out that Helldivers 2 had been removed from Steam. The decision didn’t go down well, with numerous Helldivers 2 communities filled with players trolling Steam and protesting against it. Thankfully, Sony’s distaste for their decision was heard loud and clear, as they were forced to reverse their plan. Sony's announcement to link PSN ID to Steam was the reason Helldivers 2 was removed from Steam and banned from 170 countries. Most of these countries do not offer access to PlayStation Network and creating an account under these circumstances would not be possible. After they removed the plan and put measures in place, Helldivers 2 was reinstated on Steam for every location.
