Dealers are charging ridiculously high prices for electric cars, but if you buy your car online you can significantly reduce those costs.
Buying an electric car: PROS AND CONS (in 5 min!)
Ford CEO Jim Farley recently made waves when he said, “We need to get to a no-negotiation price.” A statement that was made in reference to selling cars online. That’s a huge deal for the auto world. It’s not a new idea, but coming from Ford, it’s not something to be taken lightly. Especially not in a world where some dealers are selling Ford Broncos for more than $40,000.
Just a reminder, the Ford Bronco starts at around $30,000.
The root of the problem is dealers. They can charge whatever they want for a vehicle, and they always have. This is especially true as the availability of new vehicles has decreased due to supply chain issues. If they only have five vehicles on a lot instead of the usual 30, supply and demand take over and now you walk out of the showroom with something that costs a lot more than what the automaker told you it would cost.
