Nowadays, smartphones are so good that you can keep them for years without upgrading. While companies like Apple try to make their latest gadgets look much better than your old model, a new battery is often enough to breathe new life into your old iPhone. If your iPhone battery needs replacing, do it now.
When should you replace your iPhone battery?
As reported by 9to5Mac , Apple will be raising the price of its iPhone battery replacements by $20, a relatively significant increase from previous prices. Up until now, getting a battery replacement has been a no-brainer. The added cost, especially for more recent iPhones, may make the repair less appealing.
Don’t get me wrong: repairing your battery is still a lot cheaper than buying a brand new iPhone. (The activation fee alone is probably close to the price of a battery replacement.) But more expensive is more expensive, and it will cost you $20 more to bring your old battery to Apple after the price increase than it did before.
Luckily for you, the change isn’t in effect yet. Apple doesn’t plan to raise battery repair prices until March. As long as you bring your iPhone in in January or February, Apple will match your existing prices.
