Sony's recently unveiled virtual reality (VR) headset for the PS5 could make gaming a more immersive and lifelike experience, according to experts.

The new Sony headset has better resolution, more accurate head tracking and a wider field of view. Like the previous Sony headset, it is still connected to the console with a single wire.
The tethered option is a compromise in terms of freedom of movement, but the physical connection to the PS5 console could allow for greater processing power.
“While many specific details of the new headset have not yet been made public, we expect Sony’s new headset to perform at least on par with the latest specs from competitors,” said DJ Smith, co-founder and chief creative officer of virtual reality company The Glimpse Group, in an email interview.
