Connecting to a wireless network or public Wi-Fi hotspot is a fairly simple process, but there are some minor differences between different operating systems.
How to set up a Wi-Fi network
All modern smartphones, tablets and computers come with a built-in wireless network adapter. If you are using an older device or your internal Wi-Fi adapter is broken, you can buy a USB Wi-Fi adapter.
If the network is password protected or if administrators have hidden the network name (SSID), you will also need to find out that information in order to connect.
Select the wireless network icon in the taskbar. It looks like two computers or a set of bars in the lower right corner of the screen.
