Wiglett was recently added to Pokémon Go as part of the new biome update and could only be found on beaches.

For those who aren’t near a coastline or ocean, this is terrible news for the hunt to catch them all, as it could mean traveling for several hours just to get a glimmer of hope for the new Galar Pokémon. Even then, we’ll still need to catch a few to get the candies needed to evolve it into Wugtrio.

The Pokémon Go community, however, is not so easily convinced. It turns out that there are certain places nearby that can serve as a beach biome, as long as you can afford the entrance fee.

Trainers are discovering that the app is somehow seeing a sandbox on a golf course next to a lake as a beach biome on golf courses, occasionally spawning a Wiglett or two. This is the second case of a Wiglett not spawning in the correct location, after Trainers discovered that river biomes can sometimes host Wigletts.
