Microsoft's Windows 10 operating system was preceded by Windows 8 and succeeded by Windows 11, currently the most recent version of Windows available.
Windows 10 Feature Updates and Extended Support
It introduces a revamped Start menu, new sign-in methods, a better taskbar, a notification center, support for virtual desktops, the Edge browser, and a bunch of other usability updates. Cortana, Microsoft’s mobile personal assistant, is part of Windows 10, even on desktops.
Rather than continuing with the Windows 8-style “tiles” menu, which was not well received, Microsoft has gone back to a Windows 7-style menu in Windows 10. It still includes tiles, but they’re smaller and more contained. Check out this tour of the Windows 10 Start menu for some images.
Another new feature is the ability to pin an app to all of your virtual desktops. This technique is useful for apps that you know you want easy access to in each of them.
