The new Windows 365 cloud PC service attracted a little too much attention: within a day, it reached capacity and Microsoft had to temporarily suspend free trials.
Cloud PCs with Windows 365 | What it is and how it works
The ability to stream apps and data from your work or home PC proved so tempting that Microsoft ran out of free trials the day after the program launched. Microsoft 365 made the announcement on Twitter , saying that anyone who still wants to try the service can sign up to be notified when trials resume.
Only the free trials have been temporarily discontinued. The Windows 365 Cloud PC program still offers both Business and Enterprise options, with per-user plans available for $31, $41, and $66 depending on what you’re looking for. So if you know what you want and don’t need to try before you buy, this won’t affect you.
Scott Manchester, the director of program management for Windows 365, confirmed on Twitter that while Microsoft has reached its free trial capacity, it is looking into ways to increase that capacity. In the meantime, customers seem to be happy with what they've been able to test, with Twitter user @JakeBravo_ writing: "I've only had it a day but it's already useful. Full encryption on my iPad."
