The Afflicted affix spawns a "friendly" enemy that cannot be damaged. Instead of whittling the affix down to zero, you must heal it and remove its affliction. If you fail to help the Afflicted Soul within a certain time frame, you will be punished with a severe debuff to your Haste stat.

When Afflicted is an active affix, you'll occasionally have to deal with adds called "Afflicted Souls" that spawn during combat. Unlike most other adds that need to be killed, Afflicted creatures must be fully healed to 100 percent HP to make them go away.
