WoW bugs have seen hordes of players take to official community forums and social media channels to complain that their guild benches have been empty for no apparent reason. It still appears that only partial restoration of items is possible.

First reported in mid-August, many players lost valuable collectibles and cosmetic items, while others saw their hard-earned collections from decades of play completely wiped out. In the weeks that followed, it became clear that something bigger than a potential guild thief was afoot, and the online community has been abuzz with stories of the apparent bank robberies ever since.

In one heartbreaking story, a 72-year-old guild member could no longer host events for new players because her collections were disappearing. Previously, she would host games and events for new players, giving them rare pets, mounts, and toys to welcome them to World of Warcraft.

Another player noted that their guild of 13 years suddenly had an empty bench, sharing a photo of a support ticket referencing item recovery, with the caption: “Unfortunately there are limitations on what can be returned due to the lack of logs.” Yet another devastated player in the thread revealed that their guild had been together since the beginning of the game and the group had nothing but gold.
