World of Warcraft: The War Within Beta officially begins on June 5th, introducing new systems, a complete leveling experience, brand new zones, dungeons, delves, Warbands, and the new playable race, the Earthen… but it’ll cost you a pretty penny if you’re considering playing this WoW expansion before its official release.

WoW: The War Within has been eagerly anticipated for years. According to the previously revealed roadmap for 2024, Dragonflight will no longer receive major content updates and players will be able to get their hands on it a little earlier thanks to these tests in June.
There’s a kicker though; new and returning players can get access to the test period for free, but only if the devs invite them, and even then it’s a stroke of luck. There’s only one way to truly guarantee access, and that’s by shelling out a whopping $90 USD to pre-purchase The War Within Epic Edition.
Now, everyone can agree that that’s a hefty amount of money, but at least the pre-order edition comes with a few other goodies, including a pet, a toy, the Earthen Hearthstone effect, and three days of early access to The War Within when it officially goes live, which isn’t half bad. But for $90, three days of early access isn’t much, even with the bonus goodies. You also get access to Dragonflight regardless of which edition you pre-purchase, which is nice (unless you already own that expansion). It would be great if those who already own Dragonflight could get a discount, but unfortunately, that’s just not the case and we’re stuck paying full price.
