While each season of World of Warcraft introduces major changes to Mythic+ dungeons, the meta can get stale quickly. But Blizzard may have a solution in The War Within.
M+ Patch Notes & Chilling
During a Content Creator Summit, production director Michael Bybee and senior game designer Sean McCann revealed that Mythic+ dungeons may receive positive affixes in The War Within, as first reported by Wowhead.
"Yeah, that's actually something we've talked about. Again, I don't have anything specific to share about it right now, but it's the kind of thing we're talking about, trying to push the boundaries of this experience, make it more interesting, etc. Those are the kinds of changes we're talking about," Bybee explained when asked about introducing positive Mythic+ affixes.
If you’re unfamiliar with the term, positive affixes are supposed to give players a buff or reward for performing a mechanic correctly. Currently, the only affixes available are negative ones, and you’re severely punished for not playing around them. For example, when you’re hit by Entangling, you have to quickly move out of the marked area or you’ll be CCed. Other affixes, like Sanguine, Storming, Volcanic, Spiteful, and Incorporeal, also fall into this category.
