WWDC is just around the corner and it's time to see how Apple will deploy its AI features in iOS 18 and macOS 15.
Apple WWDC: Apple Shows Off Major New AI Upgrades for Siri
The World Wide Developer Conference (WWDC) is where Apple lays out its plans for the next year of operating systems, from the Apple Watch to the Vision Pro. And this year, all the buzz is pointing to AI. Lots of AI. Apple is the last of the Big Three OS vendors to lay out its AI strategy, and we'll be watching to see if it avoids the colossal mistakes made by Microsoft and Google. The point is, Apple has been working on AI for years, it just doesn't call it that yet. But can it successfully avoid the problems that trip everyone else up?
"Privacy, first and foremost. Any mistakes or missteps here would seriously impact my outlook and trust in Apple and my data," Apple user Fuzzball84 said in a MacRumors forum thread that Lifewire participated in. "To be honest, I'm nervous about this. I feel like they're just jumping in because everyone else is."
Apple has historically been pretty conservative when it comes to new software features. For every major hardware leap like Apple Silicon, there are things that take forever to arrive, like the home screen widgets that Android has enjoyed for years. But Apple’s slow and steady approach usually ends well.
